Miguelitos Instant Original Kutsinta is a type of steamed rice cake (puto) found throughout the Philippines. It is consumed year-round as a merienda or snack, and is frequently sold along with puto. Unlike its counterpart, which has a doughy texture, kutsina has a jelly-like, chewy consistency. It can be also enhanced by adding latik on top or some fresh grated coconut meat.

Storage Condition

Store in a cool dry place (15°C-30°C) away from direct sunlight, high temperature, moisture, foreign odor and other contaminants.

Procedure

In a mixing bowl, dissolve 500 grams of Miguelitos Instant Kutsinta Premix in 2 and ¾ cups of water.
Mix well until fully dissolved.
Rest the mixture for 3 minutes, then strain it to another mixing bowl.
Pour mixture into molders or cups and steam for 45-60 minutes or until color turns translucent.
Cool completely before removing from the cups. Top with your desired toppings (grated coconut, cheese, or syrups) before serving.
